April, 2004

April 2004 – Available now from Digital Power Electronics, the Salisbury UK based power conversion specialist, is the GPL range of linear power supplies. Encapsulated for additional safety these power supplies offer very low radiated and conducted output noise, required by instrumentation, signal conditioning and measuring systems.

Single, dual and triple output versions are available with output voltages in combinations of 5, 12, 15 and 24VDC. Two high voltage output versions, set at 180 and 250VAC, are also included in the range. Maximum power output is 10 watts and input voltage ranges are either 105 – 125VAC or 220 – 240VAC at input frequency of 50-80Hz. 400Hz operating frequency may also be specified for special requirements.

For maximum safety, in addition to being fully encapsulated, all power transformers are wound on split bobbins ensuring total isolation up to 2500V rms with low coupling capacitance between primary and secondary. All models are over-voltage protected and short circuit proof, have isolation resistance of 50M_ and are CE marked.
These power supplies offer high reliability with typical MTBF of >100,000hrs and will operate over the temperature range –25 to +70°C. Mounting options include direct connection to PCB or chassis mount with screw connectors. Sub-miniature versions are also available where board space is at a premium.

Melanie O’Conner, General Sales Manager of Digital comments, “There is still a very active market for linear power supplies in Europe. We have many customers looking to support legacy products as well as new projects for safety, noise or space conscious applications.”
